Philips Portable DVD Players
Most Philips portable DVD players are made from a semi-soft plastic that is a bit malleable. Even so the player is very well put together and it can tolerate one or two accidental drops. The quality is reasonable and the price is somewhere in the middle – not to expensive but not to cheap either. Either way, the players offers a very good quality compared with the price you pay.
All Philips players have almost the same appearance – rounded outside edges and a case made from a shiny plastic. Usually they`re a bit more heavy compared with similar models from other manufacturers. The Controls are very intuitive, easy to understand and use and most important perfectly situated.
All the players from Philips offer a good picture quality. With the Philips feature called: “bright dot policy” you are assured that absolutely no DVD player will have bright dots. They are very strict about this feature. Maybe they just spread some words around but the fact that all their players offer almost perfect picture quality is a guarantee of their commitment.
All the players support other file formats such as: mp3, Mpeg4, Jpeg, DVD+ and others. A minor drawback is that most of the models have only 1 headphone jack since there are a lot of products of similar quality and price that offers 2 jacks.
Another good thing about these players is the sound quality, as long as you don`t use the external speakers. These speakers offer just a mediocre sound quality but this problem is common to all DVD players available in this price range. We recommend you to buy a good set of headphones in order to improve your sound experience.
Most players offer between 4 and 6 hours of video playing before depleting the battery which is a very good thing.
